Abstract Several different types of surface-related ornamentation that are capable distorting the perception space have been developed and used since ancient times. Some examples these di sotto in sù, quadratura , trompe l’oeil foreshortening. These techniques throw into question limits architecture our understanding thereof. However, until now, there has no clear classification or designation distortive techniques.
